ABSTRACT

Cardiovascular disease is a serious health issue that involves blood vessels and heart. Nutrition plays a crucial role in the etiology of cardiovascular disease. The World Health Organization (WHO) specifies that approximately 17.9 million people die every year due to strokes and heart attacks; this constitutes about 31% of global death. The common factors that cause cardiovascular disease are unbalanced diet, smoking, high blood pressure, lack of exercise, obesity, high cholesterol, and diabetes. In the proposed work, the best diet among the alternative diets is selected, which contains all the essential nutrients and antioxidants. The fuzzy AHP method is applied for diet recommendation that involves all the necessary meals required to be taken by a patient. The AHP method is considered the finest technique for multi-criteria decision-making. The result of the proposed technique is further validated using the fuzzy TOPSIS method on the basis of order of preferences.
