ABSTRACT

The courses are offered for academic credit and can be used to help fulfill requirements toward an advanced degree. Some employers conduct short-term training for their own employees, whereas others offer training to interested participants at a nominal fee. Some individuals consider self-study training as an imposition on their private time and feel that it also takes away from their productive work time. Interestingly, the current COVID-19 pandemic has not only significantly impacted public health and the economy but has also created some unimaginable problems in technology transfer and training options, particularly as it applies to classroom teaching at the college/university level. Many employers encourage employees to participate in these activities because it shows a willingness to obtain and maintain expertise in this field of endeavor and to improve technical and managerial capabilities. As with the long-term training described above, courses can be part of a curriculum designed to assist the individual in securing an environmental degree.
