ABSTRACT

The societal and technological ambitions set by the advances in nanotechnology have been accomplished by the design, development, and production of novel nanomaterials, which holds the ability to transfigure the health care sector. In addressing the current global challenges in the well-being of humankind and to ensure a sustainable future, initiatives have been invested to develop engineered nanomaterials for diagnostic and curative applications. This chapter fosters the application of nanomaterials in the field of medicine. The future of nanomaterials in the treatment of ailments thus depends on the coherent design of nanomaterials and tools based on a meticulous consideration of biological and medical processes.
