ABSTRACT

Stream physical condition is increasingly a priority for resource managers. Assessment, monitoring, and restoration techniques continue to be developed and standardized. The two-stage ditch and self-forming channel design concepts are gaining acceptance in low-gradient landscapes as a means to achieve drainage, stability, and ecological goals. The Enhanced Channel Design v2.6 is a freely available spreadsheet tool that aids in the design process for these practices. This chapter provides a brief overview of the spreadsheet capabilities, workflow, and outputs.
