ABSTRACT

Trauma is one of the most important public health challenges. In recent years, the applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning for the prediction and diagnosis of trauma-related diseases are gradually rising and show the bright prospect. The research and application of artificial intelligence in traumatic brain injury mainly focus on the prediction of traumatic brain injury, intracranial haemorrhage, chest, abdominal injury and fracture. Venous thromboembolism and infection, need for critical care and the outcomes after trauma injuries were also predicted by the model created by artificial intelligence and machine learning. In this review, we summarized the application and development of artificial intelligence in the prediction and diagnosis of trauma medicine over the recent years.
