ABSTRACT

In the healthcare sector, many data are generated and gathered every day from different sources. There is a need to process these data. Many data are imbalanced and are of high dimensional. Many data mining methods are being used to process the data and gather information from the data. Big data, cloud computing, along with fog computing bring a revolution in the healthcare sector. Due to the variability of work in the health sector, there is a differentiated workload needed in the cloud as well as fog datacenters. The dynamic consolidation technique in the data center minimizes the number of hosts in the data centers and the underutilized or idle servers go to sleep mode and minimize the power consumption. In this chapter, the VM consolidation technique using reinforcement learning is proposed to optimize the energy consumption in the fog-assisted cloud data centers.
