ABSTRACT

The article is devoted to the development of tourist complexes in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. Occupying one fifth of the entire territory of the country, the Arctic region of Russia is developing in the economic and geopolitical terms, being the largest territorial and mineral resource base. At the same time, the tourism sector in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation is underdeveloped, given that the popularity of this destination among travelers is growing every year. This paper examines the existing problems of tourism in the Arctic region, prerequisites for sustainable development of tourism, taking into account the need for a scientific approach. The system of group settlement is considered as the basis for the development of a system of tourist complexes in the Russian Arctic, which will positively affect the socio-cultural and economic development of the northern regions. A system for placing tourist complexes in the Russian Arctic has been proposed.
