ABSTRACT

The article emphasizes the importance of the illustrated encyclopedic construction dictionary, created at the Georgian Technical University, for the development of the Georgian construction culture. The content and structure of the dictionary, the modern understanding of terms, ways of solving the latest problems of practical and theoretical lexicography and lexicology on the basis of etymological search of the terms, are described. Dozens of new construction terms have been proposed, which cannot be found in the Georgian press or on the Internet. The stages, goals, tasks and directions of work on the dictionary are discussed. The dictionary includes formulas, diagrams, figures and color illustrations that allow the reader to delve deeper into the content of the term. The total number of terms processed is 16,189, and the dictionary has 5 volumes.
