ABSTRACT

Human life flows in open and closed urban spaces. The variety of daily human activities dictates the multifunctionality of these spaces and the variety of spatial forms. Human life is constantly transforming, all new manifestations must find their place in the urban environment. The article discusses the development of social communication areas (SCA). Based on these studies, we classify them with different parameters. In our classification, the more common types are distinguished and their modern trends are highlighted. The international experience provides guidance for the organization and activation of social communication areas of Yerevan. This article draws parallels with actual examples in the city of Yerevan. Conclusions are made on the reorganization and actualization of open public areas of social communication.
