ABSTRACT
The article presents the characteristics of tools for the processing of natural stones. Their dynamic development and the differences in their shape depending on their purpose were noted. The granite raw material used in construction, inter alia for the purpose of building facades and paving slabs, is discussed. The methodology of assessing the surface texture - post-machining roughness was characterized. Attention was paid to the criterion of geometric effectiveness of the impact, which has a direct impact on the design and selection of machining tools.
