ABSTRACT

The article presents an overview of existing design and engineering solutions for the development of the construction and technology field and a possibility of applying its tools and solutions adapted to the extreme conditions of the Arctic zone. The authors substantiate the system of design, construction and recycling of engineering facilities and residential buildings based on climatology data and geographical features of the region where they are located. Arguments are given in favor of using wood products in high-latitude construction, and the main benefits of wood as a construction material are highlighted in detail. A priority task has been set for implementing various design principles by developing nodal connections that meet the requirements of Arctic construction. Solutions are proposed for connecting various load-bearing members of domed buildings and structures (spherical, vaulted, etc.). The technology of assembly and disassembly of the load-bearing frame in case of recycling or transfer to another location has been worked out, which can significantly speed up the production of construction and installation works and is of utmost importance in the conditions of Arctic construction.
