ABSTRACT
In the present chapter, various rock and soil types found in the state of Telangana are detailed. Some of the engineering properties of the soils are presented. The depths of the rock stratum at various locations are also discussed. In addition, various alternative construction materials produced from different industries in the state are also highlighted. Boring log profiles focusing on the soil types and the measured standard penetration number collected from different sites are provided and discussed. Finally, the foundation soils of a few important heritage structures are briefed.
