ABSTRACT

Chemistry, a subject with theory and practice section, is a difficult science requiring students to have thinking abilities, abundant imagination, sensitivity, intelligence through observation, synthesis, analysis, evaluation, reasoning skills, and skills applying chemistry into reality. By the outstanding features of ESRI story map—one of the web applications created by cloud platform of ESRI, ArcGIS Online can design topics and lesson plans for teaching chemistry following three different groups of students (low, medium, high level) to evaluate their improvement of chemical awareness, their interest in learning, and their abilities to connect to realities by location-based thought. In addition, the chapter not only indicated the results of the investigation in applying ArcGIS on Chemistry lessons at high schools in Hanoi capital but also gave the rules and process to guide teachers on how to use ArcGIS in designing contents as well as lesson plans in chemistry.
