ABSTRACT

Technology has been advancing rapidly for the last few decades. It has become an integral part of personal and professional lives. Language learning has become a continuous process. It is not confined to conventional classroom learning. The educational technology helps to improve the learning. It is mostly rote memory in school education, and “learning” does not naturally take place. The teaching of English is needed to be more practical oriented. Children are preparing for the next hundred years. The information and communication technology tools offer a powerful platform for better education in Indian schools and colleges. Electronic gadgets have become an integral part of personal and professional lives. People from all walks of life use technology. Students across the world are using technology more. It is a fact that students are more knowledgeable and skilled when it comes to using technology than teachers. Teachers are needed to embrace technological tools for teaching. They facilitate models of the language used to develop the students’ language skills. The integration of electronic tools in the classroom creates a powerful environment, encourages learning, and nurtures a desire among students to have success in the future. E-tools are more powerful than any other teaching aid used so far. They boost students’ self-confidence, facilitates independent and encourage self-paced learning, and hence, student-centered learning. The objective of this chapter is to exhibit a variety result in of E-tools to enhance English language skills of 432the students. Technology has changed both the role of a student and teacher. Hence, technology enables multimodal language activities for the students and let them grow as independent learners and act as the master of their own time.
