ABSTRACT

Teacher education institutions are powerhouses of a country which produce excellent (influential) teachers so that responsible and good citizens are developed in the country. If a teacher makes a mistake, this affects the entire generation. The instructors, curriculum, and learning environment in a teacher education institution play significant roles in framing the student teachers. Today’s student teachers are tomorrow’s teachers. Good teachers are the builders of an excellent nation. The economic, psychological, sociological, esthetical, cultural, moral, and philosophical developments of the citizens of a country ultimately depend on the educational system of that country and the shoulders of the teachers. Along with the curriculum, the evaluation procedures determine the quality of the student teachers’ achievement. Excellent curriculum, adequate teaching and learning environment, and appropriate evaluation techniques can make perfect teachers, in return, perfectly molded citizens. If we neglect the procedures, techniques, and tools of the evaluation system, teacher education institutions become paralyzed and after that unproductive. Keeping the importance of evaluation procedures in mind, the author of this chapter clearly explains every term that comes across the evaluation system, types, steps, and course of action in the evaluation procedure with keen interest to strengthen the teacher education institutions and specifically the student teachers by equipping them with knowledge about the evaluation procedures.
