ABSTRACT

Information and communication technology (ICT) plays a vital role in today’s education system. Recent research shows that the pedagogies as well as pedagogical reasoning of teachers highly inspire their use of ICT, thereby impacting the achievement of their students. In this chapter, the use of virtual reality and augmented reality in digital pedagogy has been discussed. First, the basic difference between these two has been explained, and then their applications in both face-to-face teachinglearning processes and online mode of education have been illustrated. Along with the advantages of these technologies, the disadvantages are also mentioned. Also, the facilitators and the barriers to adopting these applications are elaborated.
