ABSTRACT
This chapter reviews current approaches in education that use AI technologies, such as natural language processing and machine learning, which provide targeted learning opportunities for teachers. This chapter leverages the ICAP framework to discuss current and future directions for AI-based tools that put teachers in the loop to help notice and respond to students’ ideas as well as technologies to provide automated feedback on teacher practice.
