ABSTRACT

With the expeditious and changing scenario of Indian industries in the Industrial Revolution 4.0, it has been a game of catching up and coping for the safety and security departments. To overcome such state-of- the-art challenges, we must use the advent of technologies such as IoT and cyber physical systems. IoT devices integrate the physical world with computer-based systems by sensing and controlling the objects across existing network infrastructure, and result in improved accuracy, efficiency, and economic benefit. In light of the importance of safety and security aspects, a laser trip wire model has been developed that is customizable, portable, and cost-effective. The laser trip wire system has embedded IoT to detect, collect data, and analyze to improve work systems by restricting entry, detection of entry of unknown personnel, large-scale soft fencing, and automatic failure detection. This system is capable of remotely processing instantaneous alerts (visual, audio, and online monitoring) on intrusion of an unidentified item or being. The model gives promising results and has a bright scope, as it can be customizable to meet many varieties of industrial standards and can help in preventing our primary concerns of safety and security in ever- growing and -evolving industries.
