ABSTRACT

With increasing worries about the environment, several organizations are rethinking their strategies to reduce their part in the negative impact on the environment. This objective has led industries to look for eco-friendly processes, adopting tools and techniques that focus on green manufacturing. This has been made possible by implementing Lean Six Sigma (LSS) along with considerations about the environment, also known as Green Lean Six Sigma (GLSS), which could convert prospects that favor the environment into process advantages. Both LSS and GLSS majorly focus on improving the industry’s competitiveness in the market along with profits, made possible by reducing lead-time, in-process variability, and waste, and integrating green, environmental considerations. This chapter explains GLSS implementation and frameworks used in different industries.
