ABSTRACT

The aim of this chapter is to find out the important practices of sustainable product returns and recovery (SPRR) by conducting a survey in Indian textile industries. A survey instrument was developed on a five-point Likert scale. Respondents were asked about different issues related to SPRR. Responses were collected through an online survey using a convenient sampling method. Simple descriptions, correlations and t-tests were applied to the analysis of the survey responses. It was observed that reduced resource utilization (SPRR-1) and remanufacturing of returned products as the usable product (SPRR-5) were more practised by companies. SPRR issues were identified and empirically tested. The issues related to SPRR are highly significant for the clothing industry in India.
