ABSTRACT

Artificial Intelligence is the simulation of human intelligence in machines to make them think and work like humans. With the advent of this technology, machines today are able to make decisions, solve problems and understand the communication from humans and respond accordingly. Owing to these intellectual tasks, Artificial Intelligence has its applications in a wide variety of fields including manufacturing, surveillance, production, security and healthcare. Robotics is the field which is interdisciplinary in nature and involves the design and development of robots that can assist humans. These robots are employed in industries where tasks are to be performed repetitively and in environments which are dangerous for human to work with. This book highlights the importance and benefits of integrating Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in order to improve the autonomous behavior of robots through learning process. Though there are many works regarding robots with human intelligence, incorporating Artificial Intelligence in Robotics is essential to make the robots perform specialized activities such as autonomous vehicle driving, pick and drop of objects in industrial environments and so on. This book focuses on the various use cases and applications of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in diverse areas and also discusses the Artificial Intelligence algorithms that are used in the robotic development. The positive and negative impacts of Artificial Intelligence in the society are also deliberated along with the challenges involved in the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence in the field of Robotics.
