Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be the next big thing for us. It can also be the end of everything as we know it. So, what makes it so special as to disrupt things so much?

The multiple implications that AI may have in different contexts make it difficult to define. As luck has it, the same perceived ambiguous associations can be taken as a blessing in disguise. The wide connotations for AI by various entities implies that with properly set strategies the same pliability AI is associated with can lead to its advantageous emloyment.

Within the parameters of Malta where disruption is in our best interest to move forward, this write-up rationalizes an ongoing ICT journey of modernization. Yet, as exemplified in recently published AI-related documents, this is best acquired if education, as an enabler for change, and initial teacher education programs are customized to seize the opportunity a fast approaching AI induced transformation can bring about.
