ABSTRACT
This method chapter comprises a short introduction to the use of refraction seismic methods. It describes the fundamental theory, planning considerations, opportunities, limitations, and resolution of the geophysical method and references relevant literature and related case histories. The section is written to enable the reader to decide whether this method fits the intended purpose and for a better understanding of the physics behind it.
