ABSTRACT

This case history describes how geophysical surveys have been a part of over 20 geotechnical and environmental site investigations in an area of port and transportation infrastructure development. The focus is on electrical resistivity mapping (ERT) used to interpret overburden thickness and depth to bedrock with additional seismic and MASW surveys to characterise soil and bedrock properties. The case includes practical survey and planning considerations along with examples of interpretations and results.
