ABSTRACT

Aesthetic blepharoplasty in essence is a surgical exercise that can improve aesthetics as well as touch the soul to enhance one's wellbeing. The indications for aesthetic blepharoplasty are related to correcting the ageing process as well as other inherent deformities and facial presentations. An upper blepharoplasty needs to create this as a mandatory exercise. In the upper lid, the lacrimal gland is close to the middle fat and care must be taken to avoid resection with orbital fat during upper blepharoplasty. Evaluation of the supratarsal crease and creation of a well-defined one are the most important requirements of upper blepharoplasty. In summary, after evaluation, a good upper blepharoplasty will result in removal of sufficient redundant skin and creation of a natural supratarsal crease. The aim in upper blepharoplasty is to create a contoured supratarsal crease with no fat herniation. Like any surgical procedure, complications do occur after aesthetic blepharoplasty.
