ABSTRACT

The global outbreak of COVID-19 has badly affected the education sector of India. Schools, colleges, and all the other educational institutes were shut down as a part of a preventive measure. Due to their closure, all the students studying in schools and colleges were affected from the academic point of view. Since there was no way of studying through conventional methods, the education sector started looking for an alternative; hence, the switch to smart education systems. The conduction of laboratory experiments and lectures started through the online mode. Not just the schools and colleges but the seminars or research conferences were also affected. The pandemic also compelled them to switch to a smart mode so that they can take place virtually. This chapter gives an overview of the Indian situation about which major areas of the education sector were affected due to the pandemic and how all the schools, colleges, and institutes organizing seminars and webinars switched to smart mode. The whole procedure for the organization of all the above-mentioned segments has been discussed, as well as the problems faced by the attendees.
