ABSTRACT

In the 21st century contemporary society, digitalization is penetrating in every sphere of our life including the education sector. The gradual usage of technology in delivering education, knowledge, and skills is taking place in innovative ways to enable education to attain the globalized character. But this digital penetration is coupled with changes in the mode and pattern of work and learning new skill needs for efficient functioning in the current economic uncertainty and political shifts. Thus the use of these technologies have contributed to transforming learning and skill development into a lifelong process where we have to refresh our knowledge and skills to keep updated with the constant developments in the digital world to maintain our relevance in society (Grand-Clement, 2017).

Thus the objective of my study is, how digital India with its global vision on education and technology-based e-learning curriculum, affecting urban secondary and higher secondary school students (both male and female) while making career choices both positively and negatively.

A review of secondary literature and theoretical perspectives have been used for the qualitative analysis of my study.

Choosing an appropriate career in accordance to one’s interest is an important decision in life for shaping one’s identity so that he/she can contribute efficiently as a human resource according to the changing labor market scenario leading to the development of the national economy.
