ABSTRACT

In this digital world with the rise of social networking sites (SNS) in a rapid pace has also allowed for new opportunities for both men and women to examine personality and gender differences in online behavior. This chapter mainly incorporates the theory of ‘doing gender’ to understand the perception of ‘passionate’ male and female motorcyclists’ pictures/videos that they usually upload in their timeline. This chapter mainly focuses on how the individuals perform gender via these digital sites. Since machine and masculine traits run too deep, women find it difficult to induce themselves into this male-dominated field. The first half of the analysis part would show how men in motorcycling are doing gender and the next half would depict how women in motorcycling are forced not to do gender at least while on a ride. Motorcyclists not performing the same are often ridiculed, emasculated, and are isolated.
