ABSTRACT

With the development of digital technology, the word “VTuber” has become a popular word or concept since 2018. Due to the emergence of various virtual VTubers, in order to simplify the process for creators to virtual character modeling. This research uses the 3D character modeling tool “VRoid” developed by pixiv in Japan. Through VRoid, most of the hair, skeleton and material of the character can be completed in a short time. Skeleton and material, compared with the time spent on post-action correction of traditional modeling, save a lot of time for characters to make skeleton controllers. Compared with traditional 3D modeling tools such as 3d max, Maya and other software, the traditional 3D modeling tools binding skeleton process is cumbersome, and the concept of the skeleton controller is complicated, and it takes a lot of time resulting in the action not being smooth.

For this purpose, this research builds a virtual character from 2D graphic design, and then uses the VRoid to quickly build a character model from scratch. Using this character to apply the technology of a motion capture device, the virtual character in a fast modeling method will finally be used to demonstrate a variety of postures and actions. It provide a way for creators to improve efficiency and lower the threshold of 3D modeling when building character models.
