ABSTRACT

ChildFund is a child development organisation, which began its journey as China’s Children Fund in the 1930s. Looking at the poverty, disparity and need for support to underprivileged children in India, ChildFund began its work in 1951 by supporting an orphanage located in Alwaye Settlement School in Kerala. ChildFund in India primarily works in the rural belts of the country, and is now slowly expanding its focus to urban poverty where child protection issues and violence against children are prevalent. ChildFund is growing along with all the children and this child has some big dreams. ChildFund strives to reach many more millions of children and young people through its innovative and relevant programme models for multiplier impact. ChildFund is leveraging on its strengths to make this plan a success, leveraging community engagement, technical expertise and local partnerships while expanding its network and enhancing its engagement with other stakeholders and like-minded institutes.
