ABSTRACT
This chapter provides an overview of blockchain technology to contribute positively, taking reference from what is currently known about blockchain technology in the extant literature and narrowing it to the field of SCM, presents an outline of the various highlights and challenges associated with the adoption of the technology in the SCM, suggests streams of SCM which can benefit from the application of blockchain technology and discusses a set of challenges in the adoption of blockchain technology in supply chain management. It provides an overview where a brief introduction to blockchain technology has been provided. The chapter presents the highlights and challenges in the adoption of Blockchain technology in a general sense. It discusses and classifies various challenges for Blockchain technology adoption in Supply chain management. Blockchain is a powerful and flexible evolving technology which is most popular for its utilization in digital currency.
