The handling of industrial waste is both a requirement and an obstacle. The recovery and recycling of food waste and by-products have become an important topic of analysis to clarify the functional and nutraceutical characteristics of industrial cereal waste. The practice of Agro-industrial waste as natural resources can help to reduce emissions impact on the environment and also lower production costs. Agricultural waste is the origin of crude protein, fat, carbohydrates, and other functional compounds, that form raw ingredients for industrial use. Including functional ingredients and immense health properties, cereal brans offer high nutritional value. Agricultural wastes are rich in bioactive compounds (BACs) and despite their health benefits, they have not been abundantly exploited in the food system. These by-products may be used directly for the processing of different foods or for the isolation or purification of different components after some modifications. Agricultural waste is utilized for the production of biofuels, antioxidants, antibiotics, vitamins, enzymes, animal feed, and other chemicals by isolation or purification. The isolated substances (Phenolic compounds or non-starch polysaccharides) in food processing industries as functional ingredients and as nutraceutical are used, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics industries.
