ABSTRACT

A well-structured postal service, in addition to promoting national cohesion, provides the essential armature for the proliferation of industry and economy. Postal operators should offer new products and services that reflect the evolving insistence to bind the nation together in a new world where people are perceptibly communicating digitally. In this regard, the present paper aims at the postal sector development in the condition of the digital economy by devising an IoT based digital post machine (Digi Post). The proposed prototype of Digital Post machine will use the ESP32, an open source electronics platform to direct the working of the hardware. The ultrasonic sensors, one of the hardware component, measure the volume of the digital post machine, simultaneously the machine‘s metadata is transmitted over the Internet, and the collector is notified at a certain threshold. It recuperates the postal sector by reducing the last mile distance covered by the user.
