ABSTRACT

In this research paper, a high-speed dense wavelength division multiplexed-passive optical network (DWDM-PON) has been designed for 32 channels with 1THz channel spacing by considering 10 Gb/s data rate for each channel. The proposed system is designed for 16 uplink and 16 downlink channels with frequency range in the C–band i.e. 194.3 THz-195.8THz and 191.1THz-192.6THz respectively and the data has been transmitted over the bidirectional optical fiber simultaneously. The performance of the proposed system has been analyzed in terms of maximum quality factor (Q-factor), minimum bit error rate (BER), maximum optical to signal noise ratio (OSNR) by varying the optical fiber length for maximum transmission reach. We have successfully transmitted 320Gb/s data over bidirectional optical fiber length up to 140 km for DWDM-PON network.
