ABSTRACT

A Circularly Polarized (CP) Dielectric Resonator Antenna (DRA) consists of two ceramic blocks, segmented to each other with similar permittivity material (εd = 9.8), these blocks are called dielectric resonator (DR), excited by transformer type microstrip feed-line with 50 Ω. The antenna covers the ultra-wideband (UWB) frequency range between 6.3 GHz to 12.5 GHz with impedance bandwidth of 65.95 % is achieved. A maximum gain 5.65 dB is reported at 10.7 GHz frequency. The novelty of this antenna has an axial ratio (AR ≤3) for UWB range and simulated AR bandwidth (6.7 to 12.3 GHz) is 58.8%. This antenna is used for military applications, UWB RADAR, wireless short-range.
