ABSTRACT

This case study approach investigated the contribution of parent-teacher partnerships in English Virtual learning during the COVID-19 period. The parent-teacher engagement was seen as a critical factor in children’s educational success especially during the COVID-19 period. The case study was applied in conducting this study. Virtual observation, questionnaires, and teacher’s experiences were used as sources of information in collecting the data. This study was administered to five parents of elementary school children in Indonesia aged 7–12 years old and two English teachers of elementary school. The data were also coded based on Reissman (2008). The finding had shown that parent involvement in English class gave benefits not only to the child but also the parents and teacher. It provided two-way information direction from the teacher to the parents about the child’s classroom achievements and personal and from the parent to the teacher dealing with the complementary elements in the home environment.
