ABSTRACT

Advanced polymer nano composites have emerged as a promising material for aerospace applications owing to their remarkable engineering advantages. Polymer composites (PMCs) reinforced with nanofillers received significant research attention owing to its superior characteristics and wide-ranging application in various industries. In this chapter, an attempt has been made to review the earlier literature on the mechanical, thermal, thermo-mechanical and vibrational characteristics of the CNT-reinforced PMCs. Furthermore, the influence of CNTs agglomeration on the characteristics of the resulting CNT-reinforced PMCs has been also discussed. Moreover, in order to enhance the dispersibility of nanotubes in the PMCs, several surface modification techniques have also discussed. PMCs continued development opens new doors for the next generation of innovative aerospace systems and beyond.
