ABSTRACT

Webinars, while often not as convenient as podcasts that the learners can listen to anytime they want (although some webinars are recorded), sometimes offer a greater degree of interactivity such as the ability to ask questions. The learners often get to see slides or other elements on our screen while they listen, and sometimes, learners have the opportunity to do exercises or ask questions of the speakers. User Experience (UX) organizations present great opportunities for learning, often providing an event infrastructure with monthly or periodic events. UX organizations also provide the opportunity to discuss UX with our colleagues and to sync up and essentially normalize our UX jargon, ideas, and methods with our peers. In short, the very nature of these organizations and the networking that they often promote is fertile ground for peer-to-peer learning. Essentially, the learners focus on building a solid network of other professionals so everyone can constantly help each other and provide knowledge and career advancement.
