ABSTRACT

The key to designing a great user experience is to gain a thorough understanding of the people for whom a product is being designed. An employer needs to know who they’re getting a resume from and how to get in touch with that person. Make sure that our resume clearly states employee name and a title of some kind, either an actual title or else a conceptual tag line of something as simple as “interaction designer.” One good way to summarize a lengthy project is to create a case study: a single but detailed story around our work. Provide supporting visuals, perhaps a photograph of the initial brainstorming whiteboard, an image of the employer conducting an interview, an annotated screenshot of the prototype, and a snapshot of the final test report. To quickly and visually display our skill set, consider using the T-shaped or “broken comb” model.
