ABSTRACT

We are currently witnessing an advanced age of digitalization in which information technology plays a predominant role in terms of significant change in educational training, administration, work and strategic policies. From the viewpoint of higher or advanced education, IT based computerized mediation means access is just one click away and information is universal. With a shift from traditional education and scholarly media toward technology based education, outcome based education (OBE) had been one of the most significant concerns of most scholastic organizations in India, particularly within management and engineering courses. OBE has been gaining momentum despite some of its limitations since the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) made it an obligatory approach for program accreditation. Different interpretations of the idea of OBE have arrived at different ways of achieving program outcomes (POs) in the light of course outcomes (COs). Implementation of OBE might not be a simple issue, as the mapping of the COs for every evaluation might be mapped with various POs. This chapter depicts the examination procedure of COs and POs for the Electronic Devices and Circuits Course that is cited to all first year students of the Engineering Program at JIMS Engineering Management Technical Campus, Greater Noida. Two techniques are combined: (1) direct attainment (DA) and (2) indirect attainment (IDA). The investigation distinguished that IDA is increasingly sensitive towards recognizing the issues which influence accomplishment of COs and POs. Issues identified with non-satisfaction of either COs or POs for the Electronic Devices and Circuits Course include lack of mindfulness towards item maintainability, and integrating item structure issues and undergraduate frame of mind towards referring to legitimate writing data. The chapter thus attempts to focus on learning outcomes and scopes in the digital age and imparts insights into contemporary technological developments, technology and learning evaluations and the outcomes of technology on learning environments in the context of OBE.
