ABSTRACT

Electrochemical machining (ECM) is an established process for machining of conducting metals/alloys. The bibliographic analysis for the past 20 years outlined that there have been a number of studies reporting on machining of Cu substrate with different tool materials, but little has been reported on the use of the Cu tool on Cu substrate by ECM. This chapter reports the machining capabilities of the Cu tool with Cu substrate as a case study. The results have been compared for material removal rate (MRR) of the tool and workpiece material.
