ABSTRACT

Over the last decade, Industry 4.0 technologies have played a major game-changing role in the optimization of industrial processes. There is no process of the industry that is left untouched by these emerging Industry 4.0 technologies. In simple language, integration of 4.0 means to integrate technologies like Internet of Things (IoT), big data, block chain, and cyber-physical space into all critical processes to achieve self-driven machines, virtualization, interoperability, real-time analysis, service-oriented, and reconfigurability. In this chapter, all the major industrial processes along with their challenges, and improvement methodology for the integration of Industry 4.0, have been investigated to find out which future direction to work on.
