ABSTRACT

The hot chamber pressure die casting (HCPDC) is an established process during which a molten metal/alloy at high pressure is forced into the die. In past three decades, a number of studies have been reported regarding HCPDC optimization, but hitherto little is available on mathematical modeling of dimensional accuracy (Δd) of HCPDC. This chapter reports the modeling for Δd in HCPDC based on Buckingham's pi and historical data approach. For model validation, the co-relation of experimental, mathematical, and statistical analysis has been presented.
