ABSTRACT
Cloud computing offers many benefits to people of all ages who use its cloud services. Especially, community cloud deals with the needs of specific groups of people. Cloud services are also available for people with special needs to empower them in different fields and help them overcome their disability. In this work, we are mainly focusing on cloud services for hearing and speech impaired community and introducing the community cloud service model for them. With the people with special needs who are hearing and speech impaired using cloud based services for education, healthcare, in any disastrous condition and daily workouts, it becomes possible for them to overcome their hesitation in communicating with others. The use of the community cloud model is to separate out this group of people to offer special services as per their needs. The use of cloud services makes them independent, helps them to take pedagogy effectively, use the telemedicine services for healthcare, get an improved interface for engagement and collaboration with the outside world. Assistive technologies can be delivered to the disabled though community cloud service model, given cloud service offers a central repository to gain access to an application to people anywhere-everywhere from any device. This chapter introduces cloud services used by the hearing and speech disabled for various applications like education, healthcare, marketing and, even, employment. Cloud services prove to be a beneficence for people with special needs who cannot always express their needs but can operate computing devices effectively to help themselves without taking help from others.
