ABSTRACT

Nanoparticles (NPs) are the main class of nanomaterials that contain particulate substances, which have different dimensions such as 0D, 1D, 2D, and 3D less than 100 nm. Several techniques are available to prepare NPs, such as photochemical, chemical reduction, reverse micelles, thermal decomposition, electrochemical, radiation assisted, and microwave-assisted. The green synthesis method is environmentally friendly and economically beneficial. Biomaterials play an essential role in synthesizing NPs from raw material through the reduction process. Plant-based green synthesis of NPs is a straightforward procedure due to the rich amount of natural substances present in the plants, which are economically beneficial and need little care. Different parts of the plants have been used for the green synthesis of NPs, including root, stem, leaf, and fruit. The phytochemicals such as terpenoids, polyols, and polyphenols are responsible for reducing and capping NPs.
