ABSTRACT

Recently, coriander leaves and seeds have been used in the green synthesis of different nanoparticles. Coriander leaf extracts are rich with different bioactive constituents which could serve as both bio-reducing and stabilizing agents in the synthesis of nanoparticles. Another study by Ashraf et al. on green synthesis has revealed the ability of coriander leaf extract in the formation of Ag NPs. Techniques such as FTIR were used to study and propose the possible mechanism of formation of NPs synthesized from plants extracts. For instance, Luna et al. have used FTIR spectra to propose the mechanism of formation of Ag-based hybrid nanostructure synthesized using an extract from coriander leaves. Different microorganisms such as Bacillus subtilis, Enterobacter aerogenes, Pasteurella multocida, and Staphylococcus aureus were inhibition tested using NPs fabricated using coriander leaf extracts. On the other hand, metal oxide nanoparticles synthesized from coriander leaf extract also have shown strong potency against bacterial growth.
