ABSTRACT

Curiosity is one of the important characters that elementary school students need to have in Indonesia. Unfortunately, until now there is no standard instrument to measure it. Therefore, it is necessary to develop instruments to produce a curiosity scale that meets the psychometric criteria. One step that should not be ignored by the developer in the process of developing the scale is to assess the discriminant validity of the factors. Based on the results of theoretical studies, the variable of curiosity has four factors, namely: being interested in new things, questioning something, the courage to try, and being enthusiastic about solving problems. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis show that the AVE square value of the four factors is greater than the correlation value between the factors, so it can be concluded that the four factors meet the discriminant validity criteria.
