ABSTRACT

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of batik learning activities on the improvement of character values in grade VII students of SMP PGRI 8 Denpasar. The research approach is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design, data collection using observation, questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis used a descriptive average, and the research subjects were 21 students. The results showed that the average value of patience in the pre-test was 79.36% and in the post-test 87.3%, there was an increase of 7.94%. The average value of pre-test hard work was 79, 38% and post-test 88.8%, an increase of 9.44%. The average score of responsibility in the pre-test was 76.19% and the post-test was 85.71%, an increase of 9.52%. Based on the overall data, the pre-test average was 78.31% and the post-test 87.27%, with an increase of 8.96%, so that the batik learning activities was effective in increasing the character values of patience, hard work and responsibility.
