ABSTRACT
Artificial intelligence is a branch of computer science that comprises the development of computer programs to do tasks that would otherwise need human intelligence. AI makes the creation of intelligent machines that function and react similarly to humans possible: speech recognition, learning, planning, and problem-solving are some of the tasks artificial intelligence is enabled to perform. Artificial intelligence refers to a machine that is programmed to act like humans such as to reason, plan, comprehend, and analyze natural language. This chapter intends to provide detailed information on the application of artificial intelligence in the food industry.
