ABSTRACT

Based on reviewing and analyzing the results of previous study on loess, surrounding the peculiarities of loess itself, the methods of dynamic triaxal tests and experiment data analyses for intact loess are developed. The results show that the ameliorated apparatus and methods can improve the efficiency of dynamic triaxal tests and precision of data analyses, and studies on intact loess dynamic characteristics at different areas can be carried through under different densities and different moistures. Furthermore, with the dynamic triaxal tests data of intact loess at Xi'an, Lanzhou and Taiyuan three typical loess regions of China, the current outcomes of intact loess dynamic characteristics are summarized. Finally, a viewpoint of considering the effect of structure characteristics in studying the loess dynamic characteristics in a large range is presented, in which the loess dynamic characteristics at different area are compared and studied systematically.
